Frequently Asked Questions
How do I fix subtitles that appear 2 seconds too early?
Enter +2.000 seconds in the offset field to shift all timestamps 2 seconds forward.
Can I shift subtitle timestamps backwards (negative time offset)?
Yes. Enter a negative millisecond offset (e.g. -1500ms or -1.5s) to shift captions earlier. Any timestamp that would fall below zero is automatically clamped safely to 00:00:00,000.
Does shifting preserve subtitle cue numbers and formatting tags?
Yes. The parser preserves cue identification indices, subtitle text line breaks, and any inline styling tags (such as <i> or <b>), updating only the start and end timestamp values.
