Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my 1 TB drive only show 931 GB in Windows?
Manufacturers sell drives in decimal SI (1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes). Windows calculates capacity using binary IEC GiB (1,073,741,824 bytes), which equals 931.32 GiB, although Windows labels it as 'GB'.
What is the difference between MB and MiB?
1 Megabyte (MB) = 1,000,000 bytes (10^6). 1 Mebibyte (MiB) = 1,048,576 bytes (2^20). MiB is approx. 4.86% larger than MB.
